The Ask
The client wanted a bright and clean design that would leverage white space effectively to showcase the art collections curated for their clients. The website not only needed to highlight the artwork but also provide an intuitive user experience that reflected the advisory's high standards and attention to detail.
The Challenge
The primary challenge in this project was to construct a digital space that felt as open and inviting as an art gallery. This meant adopting a minimalist approach without sacrificing functionality. The art needed to be the focal point, with design elements playing a supporting role. We wanted to ensure that the website's interface would not overshadow the artwork. Achieving a balance between aesthetic appeal and user experience was paramount.
The Design
The design uses a generous amount of white space to mimic the walls of a gallery, allowing the art to stand out without competition from background design elements.
We crafted a homepage that welcomes visitors with a clean, uncluttered layout, featuring a simple navigation bar and a crisp, modern font. The use of high-quality images immediately draws the eye to the art pieces, and the minimalistic approach ensures that the vibrant artwork remains the star of the show.
The services offered are displayed with expandable text sections. This keeps the page neat and allows users to choose which services to learn more about, maintaining an uncluttered interface.
For the portfolio section, we created a grid layout that allows visitors to browse through the client’s projects.
The client’s story and expertise are presented on a dedicated about page that blends a personal touch with professional acumen. The layout is carefully structured to guide visitors through her journey before inviting them to connect with her on Instagram.
In a nod to the name of the business, the navigation label for the contact page is titled "Connect," reinforcing the brand identity of Art Connect and subtly emphasizing the client’s commitment to building relationships and facilitating connections between art and the audience.
